2022 WC: Black Stars’ budget finally revealed

The government has allocated $14.1 million for the Black Stars’ campaign in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, according to Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif.

 

This information was disclosed by the sector minister on Friday in front of lawmakers.

 

 

The estimated cost of Ghana’s appearance from the total budgeted for the tournament through the group stage is $8,166,200,000. USD.

If the Black Stars are able to place among the top two teams in their group, they will also be obliged to spend $626,400 during the knockout stage.

 

The expected cost of the team at the quarterfinal round is $719,600, bringing the total expenditure for Ghana to this point to $9,512,2000.

 

The Black Stars’ expenses will increase from the $9,512,2000 quarter-final budget to $14,184,100 if they manage to advance to the semi-finals.

This indicates that $4,671,900 has been set aside for the semi-final and the third-place game, or final.

 

The Black Stars will begin training for the World Cup on November 10 in Abu Dhabi, where they will play Switzerland on November 17 in a friendly match.

 

On November 24, Portugal will visit Stadium 974 in Doha to play Ghana, who has been placed in Group H.

 

The Black Stars will play their first game back four days later when they take on South Korea at Al Rayyan’s Education City Stadium.

At Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Ghana will conclude their exciting group stage journey with their much awaited matchup with Uruguay.

 

The Black Stars, who were eliminated in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, will be expecting to fare better in Qatar after missing out on the most recent tournament, which was held in Russia in 2018.
