A 21-year-old guy has been detained on suspicion of murdering his grandparents with hamer and pestel

Appiah Moses, a 21-year-old guy, is being held by police in the Eastern Region for allegedly attacking and killing two people at Akim Hemang in the Fanteakwa South District.

 

The victims, Yaa Yeboah, 75, and Appiah Korang, 80, are the suspect’s grandparents and were assaulted with a hammer and fufu pounding pestle.

 

The victims were taken to the Hawa Memorial Hospital in Osiem, where medical professionals pronounced them dead on arrival.

 

Although the cause of the attack is unknown, community members who were informed of the terrible situation arrested the suspect and gave him over to the authorities.

 

DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Police PRO, confirmed the arrest and stated that the culprit will be brought before the court soon.
