Akufo-Addo to address the nation on 30th anniversary of 1992 Constitution

President Nana Akufo-Addo will address the nation today, April 28.On the 30th anniversary of the referendum that approved the 1992 constitution, he will speak at 5 p.m. today.

 

On April 28, 1992, a referendum ratified the 1992 Constitution, ushering Ghana into the Fourth Republican administration.

 

It established the organization, methods, powers, and duties of the government, as well as the structure of the judiciary and legislature, and spelled out citizens’ fundamental rights and responsibilities.

 

The 1992 Constitution also guaranteed increased press freedom and human rights protections.
