Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democracy Congress (NDC), has been mocked by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NDC’s chief scribe, according to the Vice President, must return to the University of Ghana Business School for remedial work.
On Wednesday, May 11, Dr Bawumia made this remark while speaking at the launch of the University of Ghana Business School’s 60th Anniversary Celebration.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is a great honor to be here today, representing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at this momentous occasion.” I’m here as one of you, having previously worked as an academic, including teaching at a business school. I share your excitement since sixty years of uninterrupted operation that has produced famous Ghanaians and business leaders is no small achievement. You should be very proud of yourselves for being the forerunners of this institution, in my opinion.
In Ghana, it was like a who’s who. It included Asiedu Nketiah as well. However, in his situation, Dean, we may have to allow him to return for remedial sessions,” he explained. The Vice President also used the opportunity to praise the School on its achievements over the years, despite the challenges it faces “due to resource deficiency, coupled with high stakeholder expectations.” “The educational terrain is also quickly becoming unstable,” he noted, “and I believe the leading business school in Ghana must demonstrate leadership in this endeavor of offering management education.”
I have faith in the University of Ghana Business School’s ability to create the essential flair for setting the pace.”
