Check services you’ll lose after August if you don’t register your SIM despite extension

Despite the Minister of Communication and Digitalization’s most recent extension of the SIM card re-registration deadline, those who don’t register their cards by the end of August risk losing some services.

The new window of opportunity, which pushes back the deadline to Friday, September 30, will be evaluated at the end of August, and those who haven’t registered yet will suffer the consequences, according to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

The program will continue until September 30 in order to terminate on the anniversary of its start, according to Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful, who is also the representative for Ablekuma West.

We will have a full year of SIM registration after that.

The deadline, she said, “will be reviewed at the end of this month, and any SIM that has not been fully registered by the end of August would be prevented from accessing certain services, including voice and data services,” she added.

The cost of using unregistered SIMs will also increase.

She stated that the complete list of sanctions would be revealed in September.

Please refrain from blaming your service provider if you meet that fate as a result of your own inaction. Being prepared means being forewarned.
