Eastern Region: NAGRAT expresses concern over work overload in Second Cycle Institutions

The Eastern Regional Chapter of the National Graduate Teachers, also known as NAGRAT, has lodged a complaint to the government over the strain and exhaustion that certain teachers in Second Cycle Institutions are experiencing as a result of the Double Track System.

During their press conference in Koforidua to reiterate the need for the government to pay them Cost of Living Allowance, COLA, the Asamankese Zonal Chairman of NAGRAT, Seth Kwakye, stated that “teachers in the Senior High Schools lack rest, due to the double track system, which is affecting their output as teachers as well as their responsibilities in their homes as well as their health conditions.” This statement was made during their press conference to reiterate the need for the government to pay them CO

Boakye Acheampong, the Zonal Chairman of NAGRAT in Koforidua, has issued a call to the general public, urging them to make their voices heard to the government so that it will pay attention to the provision of the Cost-of-Living Allowance, or COLA, to teachers. “Otherwise, no one should blame them when they lay down their teaching tools,” he stated.

The Regional Gender Desk Coordinator of NAGRAT, Linda Ama Boadiwaa, made a remark that almost all teachers and the majority of people employed by the government are forced to make do with one paycheck after another.
