President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been petitioned for action by members of the Concerned NPP Youth, Concerned Polling Station Executives, and Concerned Electoral Area Coordinators. They want Kwasi Bonzoh, the District Chief Executive Officer (DCE) of Ellembelle, fired.
They contend that the President must fire him in order to restore the party’s reputation in the Western Region.
They charged him with engaging in unlicensed small-scale mining (Galamsey).
“We can state with authority that our DCE, Hon. Kwasi Bonzoh, is deeply involved in the galamsey operations that have devastated parts of the district’s water bodies and that your government is working so hard to stop. Since several of the galamsey kingpins reside under his roof, this is common knowledge.
One finds it incomprehensible that the District Security Council’s head, who wields all the political clout, would permit galamsey actions to continue for months at a distance of less than half a kilometer from his office.
