Fight erupts after security guards drag GIJ student out of hostel at midnight

Social media is awash with videos of a disorderly situation at a private dormitory close to the Ghana Institute of Journalism’s Dzorwulu campus.

According to information received, on October 13 at 11 p.m., security personnel on duty at the Pleasant Hostel forcibly dragged a level 100 GIJ student from her dorm.

The victim, who has been identified only as Ama Lollipop, is said to have argued with her roommate, although specifics of the incident are still hazy.

According to reports, the woman who started the argument proceeded to complain to the hostel management, who suspended Ama Lollipop for a week.

After a week, she returned and asked the security guards for her keys. They instructed her to write a 500-word essay promising that “she will not fight with her roommate again,” but she refused and went to a friend’s room instead.

The guards went door to door looking for Ama as a result, and eventually threw her out.

After learning of the event, the victim’s family allegedly stormed the school.

As soon as he got to the school, the victim’s brother reportedly started beating the security officer for pulling his sister out at that strange hour of the night.
