Mohamed Salah Scores Brace As Liverpool Hold On To Beat Tottenham

Liverpool defeated Tottenham to earn their first away win in the Premier League this season. Mohamed Salah scored twice in the opening period.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be thrilled with this victory at Spurs, who are shaping up as rivals for a place in the top four. Liverpool had lost their previous two league games to struggling Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.

Once again, Salah was the driving force. After 11 minutes, he finished sharply with his left foot off of a pass from Darwin Nunez. Five minutes later, he took advantage of Eric Dier’s misdirected headed backpass to double Liverpool’s lead..

Without Son Heung-min, Spurs were never out of the game as Ivan Perisic hit the post twice before halftime and Harry Kane scored with 20 minutes still to play. However, they were unable to make one of their characteristic comebacks from this season.
