The closing of the El-Wak sports stadium’s special service center has been notified by the National Identification Authority (NIA) and will take effect on Sunday, October 31.
The center was established for the registration and replacement of Ghanaian ID cards months ago.
However, NIA noted in a statement that the shutdown was required because all applicants had finished the procedures.
The Greater Accra Regional office at Kinbu is where candidates should go as they have not yet picked up their cards, according to the NIA.
Additionally, applicants seeking assistance for card updates and replacements should go to the closest NIA District or Regional Office.
The announcement further stated that all applicants should contact the organization’s Shiashie headquarters with any requests for card verification.
As of the end of August 2022, NIA reports that it had issued 15,826,148 Ghana cards out of the 16,627,325 printed cards from the 17,109,627 registrations.
