Kwaku Kwarteng, the Member of Parliament for Obuasi West, has come out in support of Dome/Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, claiming that she is not sabotaging the administration.
Parliamentarians and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have chastised the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection over her absence from the House of Commons.
Hon. Collins Adomako-Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabre North, recently submitted one.
“We’ve lost close to a billion in revenue in three months because of one person’s decision not to come to Parliament,” he claims.
However, the Chairman of the Parliament’s Finance Committee, appearing on JoyNews’ Newsfile show on Saturday, remarked, “I also do not believe we should blame her.” We can fault her to the extent that her votes were not cast to assist the majority party in achieving its objectives. You can’t blame her for claiming she’s acting intentionally. We don’t believe Adwoa Safo is doing intentionally.”
He also refuted charges that Adwoa Safo deserted the NPP during the vote for the ninth parliament’s Speaker.
“I’m not convinced.” Adwoa Safo did not vote against Mike Oquaye, in my opinion. “I’ve known Adwoa since we were both out of parliament, and I don’t believe she did it,” he said.
