Our business doesn’t idolize legends enough – Stonebwoy

Dancehall artist Stonebwoy claims that the music industry isn’t doing enough to recognize artists whose work has shaped and propelled Ghanaian music to new heights.

The singer revealed the news on April 11 while celebrating hip-hop grandpapa Reggie Rockstone’s 58th birthday on Twitter.

Reggie Rockstone, according to Stonebwoy, is one of many legends who are underappreciated for their contributions.

“Legend, GrandPapa, Happy Birthday!” He asked, “Do you believe our industry idolizes legends enough?” The singer said, “I don’t believe so.” Other celebrities have also agreed that Reggie Rockstone is deserving of praise. Reggie Rockstone, for example, is credited with establishing the Hiplife genre in Ghana. He is credited with pioneering the merger of Ghanaian highlife and American hip-hop in the 1990s. Sarkodie, the rapper, took advantage of the happy occasion to congratulate Reggie Rockstone.

He wished Grand Papa a long and healthy life. “Wishing you a happy birthday, Grandpa.” Thank you very much. “More life,” he wrote on Twitter.
